आज दोपहर जब पोस्को प्रतिरोध संग्राम समिति के कार्यकर्ता जिला प्रशासन
शासन को ज्ञापन देने जा रहे थे तो उन पर पुलिस की दस बटालियनों द्वारा
बर्बर लाठी चार्ज किया गया जिसमें पचास से ज़्यादा लोगों के घायल होने की
खबर है. इनमें दस से ज़्यादा गंभीर रूप से घायल है.
5 मार्च को पुलिस के 12 हथियाबंद दस्तों ने जिलाधीश तथा एस. पी. के नेतृत्व में गोविदपुर गांव में जबरदस्ती प्रवेश किया तथा पान बेलाओं के 25 खेतों को उजाड़ दिया जो कि स्थानीय लोगों की आजीविका का मुख्य साधन है।
राज्य की विधानसभा का सत्र 26 फरवरी - मार्च 7 तक चल रहा है। ओडिशा सरकार ने गांव में जबरदस्ती जमीन हथियाने की तैयारियां फिर से शुरू कर दी है। इससे पहले फरवरी के पहलें सप्ताह में ग्रामीणों के तगड़े विरोध तथा दुनिया भर में लोगों की चिताओं के कारण सरकार गोंबिंदपुर गांव में प्रस्तावित संयत्र स्थल के लिए जबरदस्ती जमीन हथियाने की गतिविधियों को रोकने पर बाध्य हो गई थी।
इस तथ्य के बावजूद कि पास्को के पास अभी तक संयंत्र के लिए जरूरी पर्यावरणीय स्वीकृति नहीं है ओडिशा सरकार स्टील प्लांट के लिए जबरदस्ती जमीन हथियाने की प्रक्रिया को जारी रखें हुए है। 31 जनवरी 2011 कों पर्यावरण तथा वनमंत्रालय द्वारा दी गयी पर्यावरणीय स्वीकृति कों राष्ट्रीय ग्रीन ट्रिब्युनल द्वारा 30 मार्च 2012 कों निलंबित (निरस्त) किया जा चुका है। मौजूदा समय में पास्को के पास सरकार के साथ किया गया सहमति ज्ञापन भी नहीं है। 22 जुलाई 2005 को जिस सहमति ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर हुए थे, वह 21 जुलाई 2010 को अपनी अवधि पूरी करके अतीत में समा चुका है अभी तक किसी नयें सहमति ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर भी नहीं हुए है।
यहां तक कि गोविदपुर की पाली सभा की बैठक, ढ़िकिया पंचायत की 18 अक्टूबर 2012 को हुई बैठक मंें 2000 से ज्यादा निवासियों ने वनाधिकार कानून 2006 के प्रावधनों के तहत सर्वसम्मति से पास्को संयंत्र के लिए जमीन का परिवर्तन कियें जाने के खिलाफ मतदान किया जमीन हथियाने की चल रही प्रक्रिया पूरी तरह वनाधिकार कानून का जबरदस्त उल्लंघन है जैसे इस क्षेत्र में वनभूमि पर अधिकारों को मान्यता नही दी है और इसके लियें जरूरी पाली सभा की सहमति को राज्य सरकार अभी तक प्राप्त नहीं कर सकी है।
ऊपर की घटनाओं ने राष्ट्रीय अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय कारोबारियों तथा तीसरी दुनिया के देशों के बीच आपराधिक गठजोड़ को बेनकाब कर दिया र्है जो कि अपने साम्राज्यवादी आकाओं के समर्थन मे लूटेरे बहुराष्ट्रीय नियमों के हाथों मे प्राकृतिक संसाधनों को देने के लिए किसी भी हद तक जा सकतें है।
हम राष्ट्रीय , अन्तराष्ट्रीय नियमों तथा तीसरी दुनिया के देशों के इस कपटी गठजोड़ तथा बढ़तें हुए अपराधीकरण, तथा लफंगई पर चिंतित है।
खून चुसने वाली इस नवउदारवादी अर्थव्यस्था ने अपने बराबर ही राज्य को हिसंक नवउदारवादी बना दिया है जिसने कारपोरेट सेक्टर के किरायें के गुंडों से हाथ मिलाकर तथा पुलिस तथा फौज का बेजा इस्तेमाल कर किसानों तथा हाशिये पर रह है अन्य समुदायों को उनकी जमीन तथा आजीविका से
जबरदस्ती बेदखल कर दिया है।
यह 21वीं सदी के आदिम संचय की भद्दी सच्चाई है। जहां हिसंक कब्जा-हरण के जरियें संचय समकालीन जमीन की लूट दुखदायी कहानी है।
हम पास्को प्रतिरोध संग्राम समिति के कार्यकर्ताओें की हत्या तथा इस कायराना हरकत की कड़ी भरर्सना करते है तथा पास्को संयंत्र को रद्द करने की मांग करतें है।

STATEMENT ON THE MURDER OF ANTIPOSCO ACTIVISTS
We the undersigned are outraged and distressed over the latest turn off events in the antiposco struggle villages of jagatsinghpur district Odisha.
On 6:30 pm on 2nd March, hired musclemen of Posco threw bombs at antiposco
activists in patana village and killed 3 activists and severely injuring
several others; one of them is batting for his life at cuttack medical
college. This conspiracy was hatched by Posco management and local contractors
with active connivance with the Odisha government to murder Abbay Sahoo the
President of Posco pratihrodh sangram samity, and to violently supress the
antiposco struggle with despicabls unconstitunal means by hiring criminal
elements to eliminate and intimidate activists of PPSS which is spearheading
antipopsco movement.
It is to be noted that few years ago the hired hoodlums of Posco management
attacked shri Dula mandal an antiposco activist of Gobindpur village killing
him. This indicates the criminal degeneration of the corporate sector with a
complicit probusiness and anti people state can stoop down to any level for
their greed.
On 5th march 12 platoons of armed police led by the district collector and SP
forcible entered Gobindpur village and destroyed more then 25 betel vines the
major source of lively hood of local people.
The state assembly session is in
session from February 26- March 7, the Odisha government has begun
preparations to resume forceful land acquisition in the village. The
government was forced to stop land takeover activities at Gobindapur village
in the proposed project site in the first week of February owing to stiff
opposition from villagers and concerned people across the globe.
The Odisha government is going
ahead with the forceful land acquisition process for the steel plant despite
the fact that Posco does not have an environmental clearance for the project.
The environmental clearance given by the Ministry of Environment and Forests
(MoEF) on January 31, 2011 was suspended by the National Green Tribunal (NGT)
on March 30 of 2012. Posco was not even have a memorandum of understanding
with the government now. The one it had singed on July 22, 2005 lapsed on July
21, 2010 and no fresh MoU has been signed so far.
Even, the palli sabha meeting of
Gobindapur, and the gram sabha meeting of Dhinkia panchyat on 18 October,
2012, more then 2000 residents unanimously voted against diversion of land for
Posco's project under provisions of the Forest Rights Act 2006. The ongoing
land acquisition is a blatant violation of the Forests Rights Act as the
rights over forest lands in the area are not being recognized and vested and
consent of the Palli Sabhas has not been obtained by the state government.
The above incidents exposes the
criminal nexus between national and international big business with the
comprador third world states, who can go any extent to prostrate in front
of their imperial masters to hand over the natural recourses to the
Merauding Multinational Corporations.
We are worried of the growing
criminilastion and lumpenisation and the
strengthening of the insidious nexus between the National and Multinational
Corporations with the third world states.
The bloodsucking neoliberal economy
has created an equally predatory neoliberal state which joins hand with hired
musclemen of the corporate sector and also sends its Coercive apparatus like
the police and paramilitary forces to forcibly dispossess the peasants,
Adiasisard other marginal communities from their land and livelihoods. This is
the ugly reality of 21st century primitive accumulation where accumulation
through violent dispossession is the sad story of contemporary land grab.
We condemn this dastardly act of
violent attack and murder of PPSS archivists and demand the
scrapping of the Posco project.
