After 28 hearings in Delhi High Court and 13 hearings in NGT, Okhla residents yet to get justice

Note: After 28 hearings in Delhi High Court which transferred the matter to National Green Tribunal (NGT) at the fag end of its hearing in January 2013 and and 13 hearings at NGT, Okhla residents remain from justice. The residents of Okhla and birds of Okhla Bird Sanctuary face regular toxic ash fall from Jindal's waste to energy plant based on unapproved Chinese incinerator technology. Meanwhile, thousands are protesting against incinerators in China like residents of Okhla. The NGT orders are given below. Although this plant in question came up in manifest violation of Supreme Court's order and by flouting all teh rules in the rule book, there is no legal remedy in sight to deal with this environmental lawlessness in the heart of the national capital in Okhla with the connivance and collusion of the central and state agencies. It is hoped that NGT will see through the acts of complicit officials in time to avoid Bhopal Gas Leak disaster like scenario in this residential zone. The accountability of the officials must be fixed before public health disaster engulfs the residential colonies.
